On May 11, 2014 she graduated Cum Laude from Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, Pa., with a Bachelors of Arts in Math and Secondary Education and a Minor in Spanish.

She was Treasurer of Math Club and APO, the largest service based Fraternity on campus. She went on mission trips to Washington D.C, Louisiana, and Ireland. She was active in their youth group and was a Resident Assistant for 2 years and Head Resident her senior year. Rebecca has a passion for teaching, photography, painting, service, and feels God calling her to use these gifts to work with youth.

This entire summer, for the 3rd year, she directed youth outdoor activities, like the challenge course, at Wesley Forest United Methodist Church camp in Weikert, PA. Then, August 24, she will report to St. Paul, Minnesota, to train for her year with Youth Encounter.

For 50 years, Youth Encounter has been a non-profit Christian organization whose mission is to partner with communities to strengthen their youth ministry!

Their teams will travel for one year sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ through music and relational ministry in congregations and church institutions all throughout the United States. She will be serving in Sunday morning worships, Vacation Bible Schools, regional youth Quakes, national youth gatherings, food packaging events, youth groups, college settings, and wherever else her team is called.

You can schedule a team for the youth in your area too. For more information, please visit the official Youth Encounter Website at www.youthencounter.org.

Youth Encounter asks that each member find financial support to help offset their costs to send them on the mission road for a year.

Rebecca’s portion is $10,000, and she is thrilled to say with God’s provision, she is almost to her goal, at $9,307.

If you would considering sponsoring her to help tell youth about Jesus, tax deductible donations can be made on her personal page on the Youth Encounter web site at www.youthencounter.org/rebeccagrenell. You will later be able to go there to see photos and blogs of her year. You may also make out a check and mail to – Youth Encounter, 3490 Lexington Avenue North, Suite 300, St. Paul, MN for her to get it, you must include her name on the memo line of the check.

This is a life changing ministry opportunity. Rebecca has faith that Youth Encounter will enable God to mold her for His purposes, through the strengths and even weaknesses that He has given her, to light and nurture a fire and passion for Him in the lives of youth.

Rebecca asks mostly for your prayers for His continued guidance, protection, and wisdom.
