Bucktail Baseball Clinches Win with 12-9 Victory Over St. John Neumann”

WILLIAMSPORT-The Bucktail Boys baseball team, who have shown determination and improvement throughout the season, secured a well-deserved victory on Friday night against St. John Neumann with a solid 12-9 win.

The Bucks got off to a strong start, scoring two runs in the first inning off passed balls. St. John Neumann responded in the bottom of the first to tie the game 2-2.

In the third inning, the Bucks regained the lead with another run off a passed ball, followed by a single from Johnny Green to make it 4-2.

The momentum continued for the Bucks as they added two more runs in the fourth inning and one more in the fifth. However, St. John Neumann fought back with two runs in the fourth and four runs in the fifth to take the lead.

In the seventh inning, the Bucks rallied with five runs to reclaim the lead. St. John Neumann attempted to answer in the bottom of the seventh but fell short, allowing the Bucks to secure their first win of the season with a final score of 12-9.

Bucktail displayed strong offense, scoring 12 runs on 12 hits with only four errors. Austin Mosher pitched four innings for the Bucks, allowing four runs on two hits while striking out four and walking three. Keller Friese closed the game, allowing five runs on six hits, striking out five, and walking three.

Contributions came from Braylon Fantaski, Keller Friese, and Kyler Friese, each with two hits. Additional hits were provided by Brett Mason, Johnny Greene, Ethan Kalafut, Ethan Charcalla, Cael Dorman, and Tyler Hillyer.

For St. John Neumann, Andrew Walters, Gino Birch, and Chase Wright shared pitching duties, allowing 12 runs on 12 hits, with five errors, five walks, and eight strikeouts.

With this victory, Bucktail moves to 1-10 on the season and aims to maintain their momentum as they face Sugar Valley Rural Charter School at Taggart Field on Wednesday.
