Bucktail Class of 1969 Holds 54th Reunion

RENOVO, PA – The class of 1969 celebrated their 54th class reunion on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at the Sons of Italy in Renovo from 3 to 7 p.m.. It had been decided, after our 50th class reunion, that we would have an annual reunion on the last Saturday of July, same place, same time and bring a finger food to pass.

The class recognized the passing of two classmates in the last year. Sammy Brooks on April 13, 2023 and John Kurutz on April 21, 2023.

Previous to that and after our 50th class reunion in July 2019, we lost Ann Overgord on December 4,2019,, Daryl Friese on January 4, 2020, Jimmy Bartley on February 12, 2020 Nancy Machanye Britt on March 6, 2020. Terry Poleto on January 13, 2022 and Ronnie Stinson on January 22, 2022.

The class of 69 has been awarding a boy and a girl, in fourth grade memorial awards at the Renovo Elementary school since 1986. This past year was our 38th year. Our class wishes to remember our classmate Laura Sutliff McCloskey for suggesting we start this endeavor. We lost our dear friend on January 3, 2018. We would also like to thank all those that helped us raise money to purchase a tombstone for classmate Sammy Brooks and his brother Danny. Prior to the get together, a graveside service was held at the new Maple Grove Cemetery in Leidy Township with classmate Martha Sykes officiating.

We would very much like to thank Darlene Rathmell Marion Conn and Andy at Clinton County memorials for all their help.

Just a reminder to all our classmates, we will not be mailing out letters for our 55th Class Reunion to be held on July 27. 2024.
