Muncy downs Lady Bucks 4-0

MUNCY-The Lady Bucks softball team embarked on a challenging road trip to face off against Muncy, anticipating a tough battle on the diamond. In what promised to be a high-quality softball showdown, the Lady Bucks fought valiantly but struggled to find their footing, ultimately succumbing to Muncy with a 4-0 defeat.

The game was marked by a pitching duel that persisted until the fourth inning, when Muncy broke the deadlock with a four-run surge, spearheaded by a crucial triple from Jailyn Bake. A costly error from the Lady Bucks added fuel to Muncy’s offensive fire, allowing two additional runs to cross the plate. Muncy’s offensive efforts were bolstered by a total of five hits throughout the game.

Nolah Moyer showcased her skill on the mound for Muncy, clinching the win with an outstanding performance. She stifled the Lady Bucks’ offense, conceding only one hit while striking out an impressive 16 batters and issuing just two walks. On the opposing side, Mak Wagner exhibited resilience for the Lady Bucks but ultimately endured the loss, yielding four runs—two of which were earned—while striking out six and issuing five walks.

Eva Sockman provided a glimmer of hope for the Lady Bucks with a solitary hit—a single—amidst Muncy’s defensive stronghold.

With the defeat, the Lady Bucks’ season record moves to 9-1 as they regroup and set their sights on their upcoming clash against West Branch. Meanwhile, Muncy maintains their unblemished record, soaring to 9-0.
