Obituary
Wayne Edward Stoltz I, 73, of Carlisle, PA, passed away on Monday, November 22, 2021, at UPMC Carlisle. He was born on February 4, 1949, in Williamsport, PA and was the son of the late Philip Arthur Stoltz and Norma (Bodley) Stoltz.
Wayne graduated from Bucktail High School in 1967. He played football, drama club and was a self-taught musician. He joined his first band, The Ravens, beginning a lifetime of making music. Immediately after graduation, Wayne enlisted in the US Marine Corps and would later serve in the US Army. He would go on to complete a total of 26 years in proud service to his country.
He is survived by Linda (Dempsey) Stoltz, his beloved wife of 50 years, and his children, Sheila Beebe, of Houston, Texas, Christy Beaston of Carlisle, PA, and Wayne II, of James Creek, PA, as well as 7 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and his brothers Doug Rowe of Renovo, PA, Michael Stoltz, PA, and Philip Ray of FL. He was preceded in death by brother Ronald Stoltz.
Wayne was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing as often as possible. He learned to tie his own flies and spent many an hour fly fishing from the banks of the LeTort. Many will remember him as bass player in several bands including The Ravens, Bud and the Dynamics, and Phase II. He was active with the Renovo Elks Lodge and The Marine Corps League Toys for Tots.
