Obituary – Luella K. Coleman
Luella K. Coleman, 95, of Woolrich passed away Monday, May 5, 2025 at Eagle Valley Personal Care Home, Milesburg.
Born July 24, 1929 in Clintondale, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Helen Foringer Funk.
On January 26, 1946, she married The Great Ben Coleman, with whom she shared 64 years of marriage before his passing in 2010.
Luella dedicated her life to her husband, eight children and many grandchildren.
In her later years, she cleaned many houses and retired in 1995 after 15 years as a cook at Lock Haven Hospital.
Luella enjoyed volunteering at the American Rescue Workers’ Thrift Shop, Lock Haven, from 2011-2020, retiring at the age of 89. She was well liked by everyone at the thrift store and by all the customers who entered.
At her previous residence, Luella was doted on by many of the apartment residents.
She attended People’s Church of Farrandsville.
Surviving are her children: Sharon Weaver of Clintondale, Steven (Beth) Coleman of Lock Haven, Terri (Greg) Booth of Minnesota, Eric (Sandy) Coleman of Salona, Arnold (Kelley) Coleman of McElhattan, Barry (Billi) Coleman of Rote and Christine (Rick) Boone of Marsh Creek; daughter-in-law, Diana Coleman of Woolrich; brother, Ralph (Nancy) Funk, Jr. of Clintondale; sister, Shirley Funk of Lock Haven; 17 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 2 great, great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Ben Coleman, she was preceded in death by a son, Greg Coleman; brother, Lester Funk; sister, Annie Jandrew; and grandchildren, Lori and Michael Coleman.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 9, 2025 at 11 AM at Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington with Pastor Jack Hocker officiating. Interment will follow at Dunnstown Cemetery.
Friends and family will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 6 until 8 PM and again on Friday from 10 AM until the time of the service.
Memorial contributions in Luella’s name may be made to the People’s Church of Farrandsville through the funeral home.
