Central Mountain Track and Field Wraps Up PHAC Championships with Strong Individual Finishes
MILTON – The Central Mountain boys and girls track and field teams competed Saturday at the PHAC Championships, facing off against some of the toughest competition in the region. The Lady Wildcats finished 17th out of 19 teams with 9 total points, while the boys placed 16th, earning key points in the field and sprints on a beautiful day for competition.
Freshman Macia Owens delivered the top finish for the Central Mountain girls, placing 4th in the 100-meter hurdles to score crucial points. Grace Keohane added to the total with a 7th-place finish in the 800 meters, while senior Jaslyn Anderson placed 7th in the discus, rounding out the scoring for the Lady Wildcats.
While the team result placed them 17th out of 19, the meet served as valuable experience for the young squad, many of whom set personal records throughout the day.
The Wildcat boys earned a 16th-place finish out of 19 teams, with senior Cooper Bottorf and Isaiah Brinker leading the way. Bottorf placed 4th in the discus, continuing his strong season in the throwing events.
Brinker scored in two events, taking 4th in the long jump and 6th in the triple jump. Sam Wible added to the team total with an 8th-place finish in the 400 meters.
Despite the team scores, the meet marked progress across the board, with several Wildcats posting season or personal bests in a competitive field.
The Wildcats now look ahead to postseason qualification opportunities and the final stages of the 2025 track season.
