Lock Haven Council Member Wins State Award
HARRISBURG-Tami Brannan, Lock Haven City Council member, was recently recognized as an Outstanding Elected Democratic Woman. The recognition was bestowed by the Pennsylvania Federation of Democratic Women (PFDW) at their Annual OEDW Brunch, which was held in Harrisburg, PA on April 6th.
Tami was nominated by the Clinton County Democratic Women. Her nomination noted that she was elected to Lock Haven City Council in November 2023 and is the first openly queer City Council member in Lock Haven. Tami ran to be a voice for her constituents, especially those in the LGBT community. Originally in the education field, Tami is now an instructional designer for a tech firm. She is new to Clinton County and Pennsylvania – only living here for four years – but is heavily involved in the Democratic Party and other various boards locally. Upon her election, Tami took the time to meet with every department head to learn about their operations so she could better represent the citizens of Lock Haven as an informed City Council member.
Tami has been a member of the Clinton County Democratic Women for two years.
She is a regular meeting attendee and volunteers for various committees and events.
Tami reports back to the group on city council matters which will impact us and is a great source of information about local politics for the groups members.
Previous women receiving this honor for Clinton County include Angela Harding, Clinton County Commissioner, and Michelle Crowell, Clinton County Auditor.
