Obituary

Loretta M. (Fantaske) Jordan, 90, passed peacefully on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at Nightingale Nursing Home, formerly St. Mary’s East.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Paul (Bud) Fantaske and her son, Jeffrey Jordan, and his wife, Melanie (Mattis) Jordan and granddaughter, Jenelle Jordan.

After graduating from St. Joseph High School in Renovo, Loretta worked at numerous jobs in Renovo that included waitressing at Genopolis’ Restaurant where she met her future husband, John L. Jordan. After John came home from his duty in the Korean War, they married on February 5, 1955, in Renovo. They moved to Buffalo, NY where Loretta worked at Sylvania Corporation and eventually moved back to Pennsylvania and Lawrence Park where she raised her family.

Loretta was a member of St. Marks Catholic Church in Lawrence Park. She waitressed at Soudan’s Restaurant in Lawrence Park and later worked at JoAnn Fabrics where she always brought home many patterns and yards of fabric for future projects. Loretta enjoyed sewing, knitting, crochet and especially embroidery and cross stitch. She was always very creative and artistic. She loved listening to music and taught herself to play acoustic guitar.

Loretta is survived by her husband, John L. Jordan of Lawrence Park, a son, George T. Jordan of Erie, a son, John E. Jordan (Brenda) of Emporium PA, a daughter, Susan M. Jordan of Lawrence Park, her grandchildren, Sarah Reynolds (Michael), Hannah Frame, Elizabeth Larsen (Andy), Rachel Frame, John Jeffrey Jordan, and Joe Jordan and her great-grandchildren, Leah, Lily and Jase; two brothers, George Fantaske “Junie” (Rosemary) and Joe Fantaske; a sister in law, Betty (Anderson) Fantaske and many nieces and nephews.

Loretta’s family would like to express their gratitude to the caregivers at Nightingale Nursing Home (St Mary’s) Unit D for the wonderful and loving care they gave Loretta during her stay there from 2018 to 2021. You will always be in our gratitude.

Services will be held privately by the family.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Edder Funeral Home Inc., Girard.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, of NW PA, 110 W. 10th St., Erie, PA 16501.
