Millionaires top Wildcats in track
MILL HALL, PA – Williamsport took both the boys’ and girls’ portions of Tuesday’s Millionaire – Central Mountain track and field meet adjacent to the Central Mountain Middle School. The girls’ event went to Williamsport, 90-51; on the boys’ side, it was 124 to 26.
Central Mountain did have multiple first-place finishers. In the girls’ meet, Ashley Rich took the 100 meter hurdles, Jocelyn Renninger in the pole vault, Kiahna Jones in the triple jump, and Lily Hendricks in the high jump; Hendricks also added a third place in the 100 meters.
Rachel Hall had seconds in both the 100 and 200 meters. Back on April 20 when the Wildcats hosted Mifflinburg, CM’s Mallory Eck broke the school record for girls’ shot-put with a throw of 35 feet. On Tuesday, Eck improved upon that mark by one foot with a toss of 36′ 0″ to secure second place for the Lady ‘Cats. The Lady Wildcats also got two seconds from Mallory Eck in javelin.
Recording firsts on the boys’ side were Dominick Kennedy in the 100 (along with a second place in the 200) and Caleb Porter in the 400 meters. Brett Gerlach had a second in the high jump.
The teams are scheduled to host Danville at the middle school on Thursday.
