LADY WILDCATS SECOND, FALLS AND WAGNER CAPTURE TITLES

LOGANTON – The Lady Wildcats of Central Mountain came away with two champions and three runner-up finishers to finish in second place at the Lady Phoenix Holiday Classic Tournament at the Sugar Valley Rural Charter School on Saturday.
Winning titles for the Lady Wildcats were Austynn Falls (148) and Kendall Wagner (190), while Emma Scarborough-Perez (112), Alana Rhodes (142) and Ashlyn Miller (235) all finished second at their weight classes. Kennedy Metzger rounded out the Lady Wildcat placers, as she finished fourth at 130 pounds.
In the championship finals, Falls got the initial takedown and then pinned Alyssa Posey of Benton in 1:32 of the first period to capture the 148 pound title. Bucktails’ Kendall Wagner recorded two takedowns before pinning top seeded Phoebe Bowen of Wellsboro in 1:21 of the first period at 190 pounds.
In the championship finals the Lady Wildcat trio of Emma Scarborough-Perez (112), Alanda Rhodes (142) and Ashlyn Miller (235) all fell victim to first period falls to finish as runner-ups at the respective weights.
Southern Huntingdon captured the team title with 125 points and two champions and placed 9 wrestlers total, while the Lady Wildcats finished second with 100.5 points and six place winners, while Muncy rounded out the top three teams with 81 points.
