PHOENIX GO 3-2 AT DUALS TOURNAMENT

SCHULKILL HAVEN – Coming off a 44-15 defeat to Midd-West on Wednesday, the Sugar Valley Rural Charter Phoenix bounced back and posted a 3-2 record in the six team PM Gauntlet Duals Tournament at Blue Mountain High School on Friday to even their record at 3-3 overall.
The Phoenix dropped their first two matches to Blue Mountain 60-17 and to Tri-Valley 69-6, but then came back to defeat Allentown Central Catholic 46-18, Allentown Allen 36-23 and then Pleasant Valley 33-30 in round five.
Hunter Berry and Logan Leland both went 4-1 on the day to lead the Phoenix, while Gabe Standish, Tobias Conoway and Wyatt Conoway all posted three wins. The rest were Taylor Cantolina (2-3), Daedreynn Hopkins (2-3), Ethan Bartenope (2-2), Landon Pletcher (1-1) and Grayson Hastings (0-3).
The next action for the Phoenix will be Monday when they will host Juniatam and then will be home again on Wednesday when they will be hosting Columbia -Montour Vo-Tech. Both matches are scheduled to start at 7 pm.
