CM softball pulls out 6-5 win over State College
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP, PA – It wasn’t easy, but the Central Mountain softball team pulled out a 6-5, season-opening win over State College at home on Monday.
Coach Fred Caldwell’s team trailed 5-1 after four innings but scored three times in the bottom of the fifth and two more in the bottom of the sixth to take the 6-5 lead. The Lady ‘Cats set down State 1-2-3 in the top of the seventh for the win.
Alyssa Fisher led a CM 9-hit attack with three hits and an RBI while Alexis Strouse had two hits.
Coach Fred Caldwell’s team is to head into Heartland Conference play at Selinsgrove on Tuesday, then return home for a Thursday contest with Milton.
