Wildcats Edge Williamsport in Boys Tennis Battle
MILL HALL – The Central Mountain boys tennis team notched a 3-2 victory over visiting Williamsport Area High School on Thursday afternoon in a competitive home match.
The Wildcats took control early in singles play. At No. 1 singles, Joey McCluskey cruised to a dominant 6-0, 6-1 win over Joseph Hillman. Teammate Tim Brinker followed up with a solid performance at No. 2 singles, defeating Spencer Kaar in straight sets, 6-2, 7-5. Central Mountain forfeited at No. 3 singles.
In doubles action, Wesley Cowart and Braden Spedding claimed a hard-fought victory at the top spot, taking down Williamsport’s Howard Chen and Charles Plummer, 6-2, 7-5. The No. 2 doubles team of Ben Brinker and Owen Spedding fell to Owen Trump and Wyatt Judge, 2-6, 1-6.
With the win, the Wildcats improve their record and continue to build momentum heading into the final stretch of the season.
