Obituary – Carol Louise Kaler

Carol Louise Kaler (94) was born on April 21, 1929 in Johnsonburg, PA.  She was the daughter of William Bruce Hanna and Hazel Marie (Englert) Hanna who preceded her in death. Carol was one of  four daughters.  Jean Hunter and Doris Price preceded her in death, and Marie Williamson of Camp Hill, PA.

She was the loved wife of Malcom L Kaler, whom she joined in Heaven on Tuesday September 26, 2023.  They were long time residents of Caldwell, PA.

She is survived by four children, William (Linda) Kaler of Altoona, Richard (Alice) Kaler of Pine Creek, Ann Marie Packer (Stan) of Conifer, Colorado, and David (Shellie) Kaler of Lock Haven. She has 8 grandchildren and  16 great grandchildren.

Carol was proud of her years working as a Hospice Volunteer, Haneyville Fire Company volunteer, and also proud to be a 15 gallon blood donor to the American Heart Association.  In her past she enjoyed working at the Locks Restaurant in Lock Haven and at Bierly’s Chevrolet.  Everywhere Carol went, there was always someone she knew.  She always said she loved everyone “a bushel and a peck, and a hug around the neck.” She collected frog figurines and enjoyed giving them away as gifts, saying FROG meant “Forever Rely On God”.  She enjoyed sitting by her window, watching the birds and waving to everyone driving by.

Carol was a member of Caldwell United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the church in her name.

A Memorial service will be held in Carol’s honor on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 11:00 am in the Woolrich United Methodist Church, Woolrich. Family and friends will be received in the church one hour prior to the service. Officiating will be Reverend Laura King.  A luncheon will be held at the church following the service.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Gedon Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, LLC, 121 W. Main St., Lock Haven.   Online thoughts and memories can be made at www.GedonFuneralHomes.com and Gedon Funeral Homes Facebook Page.
