Obituary

Cynthia K. Shumac, 72, of 413 Woods Ave., Flemington passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her closest family members on Thursday, October 28, 2021.

Born June 11, 1949 in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of Earl W. Stover and Beatrice E. Keen Stover.

Cyndy was a 1967 graduate from Lock Haven High School and had a career as an LPN at Lock Haven Hospital.

She assisted her community as a volunteer for Flemington Ambulance, a secretary for Flemington Borough Council and treasurer for the Stover Family.

Cyndy found joy in her life by helping others, spending quality time with her family and tending to her flowers and gardens.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James Joseph Shumac; a brother, Richard D. Stover; and a sister, Karen Stover-Hafer.

She leaves behind her daughter, Heather Ellis of Lock Haven; her son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Rebecca Reeder of Big Plum Run; and her brother, Kerry W. (Trudy) Stover of Flemington.  Cyndy’s greatest joys were her grandchildren Lykea Nicol Ellis, Emmanual Ellis, Daryl Durost, Olivia Reeder, Myles Reeder; and nine great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at 2 PM at Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington.

Friends and family will be received on Sunday from 12 Noon until the time of the service.

Memorial contributions in Cyndy’s name may be made to the Clinton County SPCA through the funeral home.
