City of Lock Haven Unveils Active Transportation Plan Draft, Seeks Community Feedback

The City of Lock Haven announced this week that the draft version of its ambitious new active transportation plan, called “Linking Lock Haven,” is now ready for public review and comment. The plan is focused on improving safety for people using alternative forms of transportation, such as walking, biking, riding scooters, skateboarding, and more.

The plan was developed through months of community engagement, steering committee meetings, and careful goal setting to ensure that it represents the Lock Haven community.

Beginning August 19, 2025, the draft plan will be available for review on the “Active Transportation Efforts” page of the City of Lock Haven Civil Space, linked below:

Members of the community are welcome to review the plan and submit comments to Abbey Roberts, Planner & Development Coordinator, via email at aroberts@lockhavenpa.gov by Friday, August 29, at 4:00 p.m.

A community open house will be held on Thursday, August 21, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., giving the public a chance to view the draft plan, ask questions, and share feedback with the project team. The event will be held in the City Council Chambers at City Hall, located at 20 E. Church Street in downtown Lock Haven. All community members are invited to attend and share their thoughts about the draft plan.

Following the open house, the draft plan will be reviewed by the Lock Haven City Planning Commission during their public meeting on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at 5:15 p.m. at Lock Haven City Hall. Following this review, the City Council will consider adopting the plan at their regular meeting on Monday, September 22, at 7:00 p.m., also at City Hall.
