Bucks Pick Up 43-37 Win over Northern Potter

FARWELL – It was a back and forth game all night as ech team would have little runs on each other. Bucktail (2-4) would prevail again for its second win of the season against Northen Potter as the Bucks won 43-37.

Bucktail Liam Dwyer would score 15 of his total 16 points in the second half. But most of all he hit a three pointer with 2:27 left in the game to put the Bucks up 36-35. Then went on to score five of the next seven points to finish out the scoring for the Bucks.

Bucktail would take the opening tip and control the ball for 54 second before shooting the first shot of the game. With Both teams sruggling on scoring in the first quarter. Bucktail would go on a 6-0 run, before NP would answer back with a 6-0 run of their own. The first quarter would end tie 7-7.

In the second quarter it would be Gavin Becker hitting two three’s as the bucks was finishing up another 6-0 run for the lead at 17-16. NP would finish the have with a 9-3 run of their own, as they headed into the lockeroom up 25-20.

Mini runs would continue to be in the second half as NP could not extend the lead anymore than 5 points. Bucktail would find away on answering back. Some nice block shots help the Bucks to get out and run. With 1:30 left in the third. Bucktail was on the run after a block shot and Gabe Conway would finish with a lay-up to give the Bucks a lead 28-27. Going into the forth quarter it would be tie 31-31.

Each team struggling from the field. Dwyer would hit a three for the final Bucktail lead at 2:27 as the score was 36-35. Next time Bucktail got the ball, coach Dave Pentz called timeout with 1:59. Bucktail came out on controlling the ball as NP was force to foul. Bucktail would go 7 for 10 to seal its second victory of the season.

Bucktail Liam Dwyer would lead all scoring with 16 points. Gabe Conway scored 10 points.

The Bucks are off until December 30 as they will travel to Galeton for a JV time start at noon.
