LOCK HAVEN – In honor of Sexual Assault Awareness month, Dr. Katherine Ely presented a check for $150 to the Clinton County Women’s Center. Accepting the check was Ms. Mary Jane Isenberg, Executive Director of the center.

During the spring semester, the Criminal Justice Honors Society (Alpha Phi Sigma) and the Professional Business Fraternity (Alpha Kappa Psi) organized a Zumba-thon fundraiser.  Despite snow and frigid temperatures, the Zumba-thon brought in more than 60 students, faculty, alumni, and community members for an evening of Zumba fun. Zumba dances, salsa and booty shaking competitions had the crowd moving all night, and door prizes and guest faculty appearances were additional highlights.  Certified student, faculty, and alumni Zumba instructors helped lead the event which raised funds for the Clinton County Women’s Center and the sponsoring student organizations.

Such community businesses as First Quality, Burger King, Arby’s, CO2, OIP, Weis, Roxy Theatre, Kentucky Fried Chicken, and LHU Athletics donated door prizes and supplies to the Zumba-thon.  The event provided a great way to stay warm and get fit during the doldrums of winter 2014.
