Lady ‘Cat Tennis Drops Lewisburg 5-0

LEWISBURG – The Lady Wildcat tennis team continued their winning ways on the road with a 5-0 rout over the Lady Green Dragons. The win takes Central Mountain to 6-2 on the season.

CM junior, Jolee McCluskey defeated Lewisburg’s Lauren Shearer 6-3, 6-0 at No. 1 singles. Then sophomore, Kendall MCCluskey picked up another win for CM by taking down Caroline Sigl, 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles. At No. 3 singles, it was Katherine Strouse picking up another win from Lewisburg’s Lexi Markunas, 3-6, 7-5, 10-8.

In doubles action, Central Mountain’s Natalie Brown and Jess Piergalini stumbled in the second set and rebounded over Maria Cooper and Erin Hilkert, 6-4, 1-6, 6-4 at No. 1. Then at No. 2 doubles, Lady ‘Cats, Caitlyn Dale and Gianna Renzo defeated Lewisburg’s Hallie Keiser and Hannah Castellan, 6-4, 6-7, 10-1 to complete the sweep.

Next, Central Mountain will host Williamsport on Monday, Sept. 18, 2017 and look to avenge their first loss of the season earlier this year to the Lady Millionaires to stay in the hunt for the PHAC title.
