SOUTH RENOVO  – MaryBelle (Pelton) Morton, 89, of Renovo died Sunday, Sept., 4, 2016 at Bucktail Medical Center, South Renovo.

She was born in Renovo on November 28, 1926 a daughter of Edward C. and Myrtle (Johnson) Pelton.

Mary was married on July 4, 1946 to Kenneth F. Morton who died March 19, 1999. They celebrated 52 years of marriage together.

Mary was a homemaker whose door was always open to family and friends and she always had a big pot of coffee on for all to enjoy. She loved playing “Muggins” with her family and most often won. She loved holding her grand babies, country & western music, word puzzles and sitting on her back porch in the summer. But her favorite place was to sit on her front porch and watch the Flaming Foliage Parade each October. The porch on the corner of 10th Street and Huron Ave. will not be the same without her this year. She was loved dearly by her family and friends and truly will be missed.

Surviving are two sons; Frank E. (Jeanette) Morton, Sr. of South Renovo and Robert L. (Shirley) Morton of Summerson Mountain also a daughter Barbara A. Morton of Renovo.

Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren, one brother Dick Pelton of Lock Haven and a sister Ada Probst of South Renovo.

She was preceded in death by a son Kenneth Morton, Jr. a daughter Maryann Morton also three sisters Alice Sweats, Betty Cummings, Ellen Brennen and three brothers Edward, Harold and Clarence.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, Sept., 8, 2016 at the Maxwell Funeral Home, 205 Fifth Street, Renovo with Pastor Richard Colvin officiating.

Friends and relatives will be received one-hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made in her memory to Bucktail Medical Center, 1002 Pine Street, S. Renovo, PA  17764.

There will be a reception for family and friends at the North Bend Fire Company following the interment at North Bend Cemetery.
