Obituary – Gary W. Alley

Gary W. Alley, 73, of Salona passed away Monday, April 15, 2024 at UPMC Lock Haven.

Born November 15, 1950 in Huntingdon, he was the son of the late C. Wayne and Margaret Alley.

Gary was a 1969 graduate of Bald Eagle Nittany High School and attended Williamsport Area Community College.

He was a member of the Army National Guard of Pennsylvania, serving with the 728th Maintenance Battalion, Lockport.

In 1970, he married the former Judith K. McClintick, with whom he shared 53 years of marriage.

Gary was employed at S.M.S. Engineering Co., Bellefonte.  During his 30-year tenure, he traveled all over the world supervising and assembling machinery.  He then worked at Brodart, McElhattan until his retirement.

In his early years, he liked hunting and spending time at his family’s camp in Laurel Run.

After retiring, Gary and Judy enjoyed traveling together.

He faithfully worked out with his buddies three days a week at Central Mountain Physical Therapy.

Along with his wife, Judy Alley of Salona, he is survived by two sons, Brian (Kerri) and Chad (Jennifer) Alley, both of Lock Haven; his daughter, Michelle Alley of Colorado; sisters, Debra Hill and Natalie (Greg) Young, both of Mill Hall; three grandchildren: Madison, Logan and Hayden Alley; a great grandson, Hudson; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Gloria McClintick and son-in-law, Fred Rios.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 11 A.M. at Salona United Methodist Church, 624 Long Run Rd., Mill Hall, with Pastor Tom Jones officiating.

Friends and family will be received at the church on Saturday from 10:30 A.M. until the time of the service.
