Lady Wildcats March On – 3-0 over Lewisburg

cm-tennisBALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – The Central Mountain (7-0) girls’ tennis squad continues their undefeated march through the Heartland Conference with a resounding 5-0 win over visiting Lewisburg (3-4) Monday evening.

Once again it was the McCluskey sisters setting the pace with junior, Jolee McCluskey defeating Lewisburg’s Natalie Smith in straight sets, 6-0, 6-1 in the battle of No. 1s. Then senior, Quin Mcluskey took down the Green Dragon’s Lauren Shearer 6-0, 6-0 in the second singles match.

Then in doubles action, the youngest sister of the McCluskey trio, freshman, Kendall McCluskey and her doubles partner, Keli Kwiatek shutout Lewisburg’s Ava Dunton and Caroline Sigl 6-0, 6-0.

In the remaining singles match, CM’s Katerine Strouse cruised by Lewisburg’s Julia Burys 6-2, 6-2.

Closing out the doubles action Lady ‘Cats Cierra Merrill and Becky Piergallini took care of business by defeating Rylee Arner and Maria Cooper, 6-1, 6-2.

Central Mountain will next host rival Williamsport on Thursday, Sept. 14, 2016.
