Keystone Intermediate All-Stars Bow Out of East Regional 7-4 to Delaware
DIX HILLS, NY – Keystone came up short in a tournament of state champions, though they battled until the very end.
Delaware jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning then tacked on another run in the second inning.
Keystone used power hitting to score their runs with a Zane Probst reaching base on a fielders choice, followed by a base clearing blast from Landyn Carson to narrow the gap to 4-3 going into the third inning.
Delaware added four more runs in the fifth inning to hold a 7-2 lead.
Undeterred, Keystone set up a possible rally when Austin Wheeler, pounded out a base hit then Peyton Johnson went yard to score himself and Wheeler closing the margin to 7-4 though the effort fell short of securing a victory.
In their two games at the East Regional, Keystone had only 9 hits but 6 of those hits were home runs.
