Lady ‘Cats Fall 3-0 to Hollidaysburg
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – The Lady Wildcat volleyball squad fell 3-0 in straight games to Hollidaysburg Wednesday evening, however, the level of play was a bit closer than the scoreboard would indicate.
Though CM was back on their heels most of the night, they found moments to shine through and go down fighting.
After taking a short-lived 2-0 lead in Game 1, Hollidaysburg took command and was never really threatened winning the set 25-16.
The second game was a bit more dismal for the Lady ‘Cats as they never seemed to find their rhythm falling to the Lady Golden Tigers 25-7.
In the third game, fortunes changed for Central Mountain, if only briefly. The Lady Wildcats jumped out to a 8-2 advantage and kept pace with Hollidaysburg. Then after the Lady Golden Tigers managed to knot the score at 9-9, the guests inched their way to victory ending the contest 25-16 matching their effort of the first game.
Leading the way offensively for Central Mountain, Loren Marasco had 4 kills, followed by Madison Brown with 2 while Elaina Eckley and Emily Caprio with one kill each.
From the service line, Dayna Fourney recorded 4 aces while Maegan Miller, Madison Brown and Elaina Eckley each added two.
Defensively, Karli Coleman had 10 digs followed by Elaina Eckley, 9; Maegan Miller, 7; Emily Caprio, 4; while Dayna Fourney and Makenna Bittner each had one dig.
