Samuel C. Vance – Obituary

ObitArtSamuel C. Vance, 67, of 725 Woods Avenue, Lock Haven, passed away Sunday, August 16, 2015 at Lock Haven Hospital.

He was born in Lock Haven on October 29, 1947, the son of the late Calvin and Mary Kinley Vance.

Sam was employed at Crissman’s Meat Packing in Castanea before going to work at Lock Haven Hospital, retiring at age 62.

Sam was a very hard worker and an avid handyman. He enjoyed mowing lawns for several people and was very good at staying in touch with his friends.

He is survived by his companion, Patty Mallory; a brother, Robert Vance; and a sister, Suzy Vance.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Lee Vance.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, Pa with Rev. Mark Riley officiating. Burial will follow at Tylersville Cemetery.

Friends and family will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
