Lock Haven Regatta in full swing
LOCK HAVEN, PA β Sunday marks day two of championship boat racing on the West Branch of the Susquehanna, part of the 52nd Lock Haven Labor Day Regatta. Add in near perfect weather and great food and fun on the Water Street midway and crafts in Canal Park, observers say this will go down as one of the best regattas ever, marking the unofficial end of summer in a most wondrous manner.
Racing runs on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Monday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The racing schedule includes he annual Dash for Cash, where second place is first loser, Sunday at noon. It’s also the North American Championship for 700ccr and 1100ccr in the PRO Category.
The midway – featuring food, drinks, games and rides – will be open Sunday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.; and Monday, Labor Day, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Entertainment on the Stephen Hill Memorial Stage on the corner of Water and Jay streets:
– Sunday presented by Bear Country 99.9 FM: 12-9:45 p.m.: Girl & The Guitarist. Kopper & Kash, Echo & Sway, Ridin’ Shotgun, Troy Love, Kids @ Heart and Private Stock Trio.
– Monday, presented by the volunteers of the Lock Haven Area Regatta: Noon to 3 p.m., Leo & Christian Family Tradition Band; 5 to 8 p.m., Rock of Ages Reunion: Act from Harlet, Sinner and Classic Rock-N-Rol Revival.
Fireworks: Sunday at 10 p.m. Weather postponement, if necessary, Monday at 9 p.m.
