Catherine L. Dutton – Obituary
Mrs. Catherine L. Dutton, 84, of Woolrich, passed away Saturday, November 29, 2014 at home with her family by her side.
Catherine was born in Woolrich on December 16, 1929 to the late Albert and Helen Eggler.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John G. Dutton who passed away May 22, 1998; a son, Steve L. Dutton who passed away January 30, 1997; and a brother, Richard E. Eggler who passed away January 2, 2011.
Catherine is survived by a brother, Paul Eggler of Swissdale; two sons, Larry E. (Bella) Dutton of Avis and Jeffrey W. (Connie) Dutton of Woolrich; ten grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Catherine was an active attendee of McElhattan United Methodist Church where she often volunteered with church functions in the kitchen and bake room. She had a special group of friends who met frequently as they enjoyed one another’s company playing cards and eating at their favorite restaurants. Catherine was extremely independent. She was an avid shopper and enjoyed traveling to various places with her family.
Catherine retired from Woolrich Woolen Mills where she had been a supervisor for many years. She also currently was employed by Susquehanna Transit as an aide on a handicap bus.
Catherine was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother whose greatest joy was spending time with her family. She will be missed dearly by family and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, Pa 17745 with Rev. Bruce Wallace officiating. Burial will follow at Woolrich Cemetery.
A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.
