Obituary – Thomas E. Bissman
Thomas E. Bissman, 81 of Hyner passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2025 at Rose View Center in Williamsport.
Born July 11, 1943 in Renovo; he was the son of the late Thomas W. and Violet T. (Bradney) Bissman.
He was married to Sandra J. Brown on February 3, 1967. They celebrated 58 years of marriage together.
He worked as a mechanic, welder and a heavy equipment operator.
Tom was a member of the Renovo VFW and Elks. Also, he was past commander, chaplain and trustee at the American Legion in Renovo.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Tom served in the US Navy aboard the USS Moale during the Vietnam Era from 1962 – 1966.
Surviving are his loving wife; two sons; Paul T. (Lisa) Bissman of Snow Hill, MD and Scott W. (Erin) Bissman of Hyner and a daughter Michelle Y. (Jason) Schwartzman of Lemoyne.
Six grandchildren, Tristin, Dante, Matthew, Kedda, Jay, Dylan (Audrey) and a great granddaughter Evelynn.
Also surviving are a sister Carol Bissman-Grant of Pittsboro, NC.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at the Maxwell Funeral Home, 205 Fifth St., Renovo with Martha Sykes officiating.
Friends and relatives will be received one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Burial with military honors will be held at the lower Hyner cemetery.
