Edward S. “Ed” Kormanec, Jr., 63, of Renovo, died Saturday, November 22, 2014 at his residence.

He was born on June 25, 1951 in Renovo and was the son of the late Edward S. and Leona (Tarr) Kormanec, Sr.

On December 26, 1969, Ed married the former Pamela J. “Pam” (Bowes) who survives, and they would have celebrated 45 years of marriage together this December.

Ed was a graduate of Pennsylvania College of Technology, Class of1994, where he earned his associates degree in Human Services. After college, he went on to work for various organizations as a drug and alcohol counselor. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Renovo and the Renovo Men’s Dart League. Ed enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing darts and horseshoes and animals. Most of all, Ed enjoyed spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife Pam, Ed is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law; Edward S. and Cindy Kormanec, III of Bloomsburg and John C. Kormanec of Renovo and his fiancée Janelle Bobb of Center Hall, one daughter and son-in-law; Heather J. and Wendell O’Brien of Renovo, five grandchildren; Jacob Kormanec, Jetta Bobb, Jason Kormanec, Robert Kormanec and Justin Bobb, Jr., two brothers; Gary and Paul Kormanec, both of Renovo, two sisters and brothers-in-law; Anna and James Bosak of Atlanta, GA and Leona and Lee Polski of Largo, FL along with numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by one granddaughter; Leona June O’Brien.

Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, 127 Seventh Street, Renovo, PA 17764.

A public viewing will be held 6:00-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at the Maxwell Funeral Home, 205 Fifth Street, Renovo followed by the funeral at 7:00p.m. with Pastor Doug Conway officiating.
