Kaye M. Summerson

Obituary

Kaye M. Summerson, 67, of 88 Windy Hill Ln., Lock Haven went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 25, 2022 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh surrounded by her family.

Born in Lock Haven on March 11, 1954, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Florence Shoemaker.

She was a 1972 graduate of Lock Haven High School.

Kaye was married to George R. Summerson on July 6, 1973.  She was the light of his life and his “all season girl.”  They spent 48 wonderful years together and were blessed with three children, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Kaye worked at Champion Auto Parts until her retirement in 1997.

She had a strong faith and was a member of the Dunnstown United Methodist Church.

Kaye loved being with her family and enjoyed playing games with her children and grandchildren as well as doing puzzles with her husband.  

She also enjoyed reading, crocheting, coloring, crafting, being outdoors, kayaking and collecting craft dolls.  Kaye was a talented baker and will be remembered for her Christmas cookies and the birthday cakes she made for her children and grandchildren.

In 2009, she was a lung transplant recipient.  This allowed her to spend 12 more years with her family who honored the day annually with a half birthday celebration.

Kaye is survived by her husband, George R. Summerson of Lock Haven; three children: Billie (Jamie) Persun of Dunnstown, George M. (Christy) Summerson of McElhattan and Chelsey (Zachary) Fisher of Lock Haven; seven grandchildren: Elizabeth Snyder, Charleigh (Corey) Over, Alyssa Bottorf, Taylor Summerson, Morgan Summerson, Selah Mills and Judah Mills; and two great grandchildren, Zion and Onyx Terry.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Florence Shoemaker.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at 12 Noon at Dunnstown United Methodist Church, 59 Church St., Dunnstown with Pastor Rick Conklin officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington.
