Obituary
Dr. James J. Dolan, III died at his home in Loganton, Pennsylvania on February 6, 2022.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, February 13, 2022 from 10 A.M. until 12 P.M. and again from 3 until 5 P.M. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, February 14, 2022 at 11 A.M. at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, 118 Kendall Ave., Jersey Shore.
Dr. Dolan was born and raised in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He earned his undergraduate and medical degrees from Georgetown University in 1965 and 1969.
An avid fisherman, he chose to live and practice medicine in Central Pennsylvania. It was here that he raised his family and made his life.
He loved his friends, patients, fishing, golf and a stinky cigar. His “Irish Mafia” buoyed him through many hard times.
He had a huge heart and wanted the best for everyone. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his ex-wife, Kelly Sigmund Dolan; brother, Denny and his wife, Nancy, of Camp Hill; sister, Julie and her husband, John Maguire, of Sterling; brother, Michael and his wife, Nancy, of Richmond; his four children and their families: Patrick and his wife, Shanee Savoie, and their daughter, Sophie, of Morehead City; Andrew and his wife, Monica, and their children, Eryn and Aiden, of Sterling; Margaret and her husband, Jeffrey McBane, of Morehead City; and Timothy and his wife, Angela, and their children, Amelia and Alex, of Smyrna; as well as many nieces and nephews and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James J. Dolan, Jr. and Eleanor O’Donnell Dolan.
In lieu of flowers, Jim would want you to spend time with those you love and give to someone in need. A charitable donation to your local mental health center, Trout Unlimited or Take a Kid Fishing would please him.
