Obituary

Nancy L. Crissman, 82, of Castanea, passed away Thursday, February 3, 2022 at Eagle Valley Personal Care Home, Milesburg.

Born in Lock Haven on February 24, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Lemuel G. and Venetta Mader Groce.

Nancy was a 1957 graduate of Lock Haven High School.

On September 7, 1963, she married Jack G. Crissman, who preceded her in death in 2001.

Nancy served as Clinton County Auditor until her retirement in 2011 following 21 years of service and was past President of the Pennsylvania Association of County Auditors.

She was a faithful member of St. Luke’s United Church of Christ, Flemington, where she was a past member of the church choir.

Nancy was a sorority sister of Beta Sigma Phi for 50 years, past board member of the Clinton County Republican Party and enjoyed her time participating in the Lock Haven Community Choir.

She is survived by three daughters, Kathy (Carl) Smith of Castanea, Ruthann Long of Bellefonte and Jacqueline Hahn of Bellefonte; two sons, Ellery Crissman, II of Bellefonte and Christopher (Christina) Crissman of State College; a brother, Thomas Hoober of New Holland; eighteen grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Nancy was preceded in death by two sisters, Jacqueline Groce and Carolyn Kline.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 12 P.M. at St. Luke’s United Church of Christ, 1175 W. Fourth St., Lock Haven, PA 17745 with Lay Minister Toni Snyder officiating. Private burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lock Haven.

Friends and family will be received at the church for a time of viewing on Saturday from 11 A.M. until the start of the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke’s United Church of Christ.
