Connie Marie (Weaver) Poorman

Obituary

Connie Marie (Weaver) Poorman, known best as Mom, Nan or Gram, 73, of Beech Creek, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, January 9, 2022.

Born October 16, 1948 in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of the late Guy E. and Ruby L. (Goodling) Weaver.

She was united in marriage to Lloyd E. Poorman on June 22, 1968.

Connie was a very devoted Christian. She loved reading and listening to her gospel country music. She enjoyed spending time on her porch swing watching the birds and enjoying the summer breeze with her loving husband. She also loved planting flowers and gardening during the warmer seasons and always looked forward to visits from her family, especially her grandchildren.

In her early years she worked very hard. She attended South Hills School of Business and Technology and graduated with high honors in Business Management and Accounting in 1977. After staying home with her three young children, Connie started her own trucking company in 1980, Center Valley Transportation, of which she owned and operated for 12 years. Following the closing of the company, Connie and Lloyd relocated their family to Colorado where they operated and managed a hunting lodge for a few years. They then moved back to Beech Creek where they owned and operated the Beech Creek Laundromat and Car Wash for more than 30 years. During that time, Connie finished her working career in the accounting department at the Sun-Gazette.

After retirement, Connie went on to enjoy her life, living in her faith and spending time and traveling with her husband. She enjoyed baking and cooking for anyone that wanted to eat. She loved the holidays and having the family together to celebrate. Connie touched the lives of everyone she spoke to and will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.

A Celebration of Life service for friends and family will be announced at a later time.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Marsh Creek Brethren in Christ Church, Howard, PA.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Kader-Neff Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 135 W. Main St., Howard, PA.
