Obituary

 

John James “Ducky” Ruggiers, Jr., 77, of Lock Haven passed away Sunday, December 26, 2021 at the home of his daughter, Amy, in Bellefonte.

Born September 7, 1944 in Lock Haven, he was a son of the late John James and Betty Faye (Knauff) Ruggiers, Sr.

Ducky was a 1963 graduate of Lock Haven High School.

In February 1962, he married his love, the former Carol Blazina, with whom he shared 58 years of marriage before her passing on January 5, 2021.

Ducky was employed at Piper Aircraft until their closing and then at Mill Hall Clay until their closing, at which time he retired.

He was a member of the Sons of Italy as well as a past member of Goodwill Hose Fire Company and the Castanea Social Hall.

Ducky enjoyed hunting with his family as well as socializing, being involved with the fire company and spending time with his family and friends.

Surviving are his children: John J. Ruggiers, III of Lock Haven, Amy (James) Donley of Bellefonte, Mark Ruggiers of Lock Haven, Cindy Ruggiers (Roosevelt Rebimbas) of Delaware and Linda Ruggiers (Gregory Kramer) of Lock Haven; a brother, Jeff Ruggiers (Jean) of Florida; two sisters, Frieda Toner (John) of Flemington and Tina (Phil) Yothers of Beech Creek; nine grandchildren: Jimmy Donley, Stacy Wyland, Ashley Ruggiers, Michael Wise, Brittany Ruggiers, Seth Donley, Zachary Smith, Brett Ruggiers and Crystal Rebimbas; and 16 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, Carol Ruggiers, she was preceded in death by three siblings: Baby Earl Ruggiers, Edith Kline and Greg Ruggiers as well as his favorite dog, BamBam.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 31, 2021 at 1 P.M. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, PA 17745 with Rev. Alan Eckenroad officiating.  Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Mill Hall.

Friends and family will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 12 Noon until the time of the service.

Memorial contributions in Ducky’s name may be made to the Clinton County SPCA through the funeral home.
