Obituary

David Cox, Jr., 96, of Beech Creek passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at Susque View Home, Lock Haven.

Born January 29, 1925 in Beech Creek, he was a son of the late David H. and Eva Lytle Cox.

David was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving with the 77th Division in the Pacific Theater during WWII.

On August 3, 1946, he married the former Betty Schrack with whom he shared 61 years of marriage before her passing in 2007.

David was employed by Piper Aircraft, retiring in 1984.

He attended Beech Creek Wesleyan Church.

David loved motorcycles, owning several over the years and taking many motorcycle trips with his wife, Betty.

He also enjoyed reading.

Surviving is a son, Gary D. (Diane) Cox of Beech Creek; a sister, Deborah (Danny) Stoner of Camp Hill; 4 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and 8 great, great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael Cox; a brother, Walter Cox; a sister, Zula Reish; and a grandson, Brian Cox.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 10 A.M. at Beech Creek Wesleyan Church, 217 Main St., Beech Creek with Rev. Alan Eckenroad officiating.

Private burial will take place at Hays-Fearon-Bossert Cemetery, Beech Creek.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Beech Creek Wesleyan Church, P.O. Box 39, Beech Creek, PA  16822.
