Natural gas pipeline project “going smoothly”

Temporary Bridge Crossing Young Woman’s Creek

LITTLE ITALEE, PA – The massive Leidy South Project across northern Clinton County remains on schedule for a late 2021 completion date. Several pipeline project links are underway in Clinton and Lycoming counties, including the successful completion of the line under Young Woman’s Creek. Pipeline workers for the Williams Transco project have recently completed placement of a temporary bridge to assist them in their work on the 2.4 mile section in Chapman Township. Another crew is working on a 6 mile link from Chapman Township through Leidy Township and there is another 3.5 mile section in Jordan Township, Lycoming County.

Mike Atchie, project outreach coordinator, told The Record the work is “going smoothly, making good progress.” He said there are some 80 to 100 employees carrying out the work in Clinton County. The pipeline will serve to increase the flow of natural gas from Leidy to the Atlantic seaboard.
