Central Mountain Falls in High-Scoring Battle at Williamsport

WILLIAMSPORT – In a game packed with offense and intensity, the Central Mountain softball team came up just short against host Williamsport on Tuesday, falling 16-13 in a marathon contest that saw runs scored in every inning but one.

The Lady Wildcats were aggressive at the plate from the start, pushing across runs in the first, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh innings. Their only scoreless frame came in the second. Despite the offensive firepower, including back-to-back home runs from Katelyn Bowman and Cora Myers late in the game, it wasn’t quite enough to overtake the Millionaires.

Camdyn Weaver and Joselyn Shultz shared pitching duties for Central Mountain, working hard to navigate a tight strike zone and keep Williamsport in check.

Central Mountain made a strong push to rally in the final frames, showing determination down to the last out. However, Williamsport’s big innings in the third and fourth—scoring 11 runs combined—ultimately gave them the edge.

Central Mountain will be back in action today Wednesday visiting Jersey Shore for a double header game.
