Pine Creek Township Neighbors and Friends
Editor:
Kevin Ferrara has announced that he is running for Pine Creek Township Supervisor. Kevin will be running against Dean Edwards who was elected Supervisor in 2023. Edwards filled the remainder of Tom Wilt, Jr. ‘s term after Tom’s passing.
Edwards, along with Dave Winkleman, Jr., who was also elected in 2023, came to the Township with different backgrounds and skills, both having business knowledge from owning businesses, in addition to years of living in the Township.
The Team of John Reese, Supervisor for the past eight years, Edwards and Winkleman, Jr., have accomplished a great deal over the past few years with managing the Township as cost effectively as possible, and striving for PCT to be a preferred place to live and own a business.
The various talents and strengths the three possess contributes to strong leadership, smart decision making, improvements to our Township roads and amenities, community recreation opportunities for families, among other things.
Having worked for and retired from Human Resources for one of the most progressive businesses in Clinton County, I understand the need for change and adding new talent and skills when necessary, and making sure the right people are hired to ensure business success! And being a PCT resident and taxpayer for over 60 years, I care about our Township now and planning for the future for my children and grandchildren.
Anyone has the opportunity to run for public, elected offices and voted on by the people.
These are some questions I would ask Mr. Ferrara or any other candidates running for Supervisor…
1. Your article says you have a BS in Fire Service/Business Admin, and are pursuing a PhD in Fire and Emergency Management Admin. Have you served with any of our local fire companies, and if so, what were your responsibilities, what were your accomplishments and are you currently an active member? If you’re not an active member, can you explain why? If you did serve, what would the fire company members have to say about you?
2. You mention, “Service to others before self is an important core value to me.” Tell me more about that. Comments like “restore transparency and accountability in township governance…”. That comes across to me as you’re being critical and not taking a positive, partnering approach, especially when you’re not aware of what all they do. Tell me what you have accomplished in our community over the several years you’ve lived here?
3. Mr. Ferrara, you mention return on investment to residents and business owners. And you believe in giving back to the community, not taking from it? What are you giving back? Do you serve on any school boards or local organizations? And local officials sacrificing more to their community? Please explain what you have done, currently do, or would do.
4. Mr. Ferrara, what would your neighbors and people in our community have to say about you, your character and you as a person? I’ve witnessed your negativity and disrespect to current Township leadership, the Township Secretary and members of our community at Township meetings and on the Clinton County Watchdog Facebook page.
5. Do you think the current leadership would welcome you to the Team and want to work with you?
6. Mr. Ferrara, your military service is appreciated, but I’m not interested in your academic credentials, degrees and initials after your name. I’m looking for an honest, trustworthy, upstanding person in our community who has proven he can work effectively with others, be a positive influence in our community, be a Team Player who is also a Servant Leader, someone willing to be available anytime to Township residents and businesses when they have a serious question or concern. Do you believe you’re that person?
7. Finally, Mr. Ferrara, if elected, tell me what you would do to partner with current leadership, Township residents and businesses, and what you would do to be a positive influence in our community?
Know who you are voting for, who’s working for your best interest as a resident, business owner, and tax payer! It does matter!!
