Obituary

 

Mary Louise DeHaas, 79, of Swissdale, passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born May 1, 1942 in Lock Haven, Mary Louise was the daughter of the late William and Margaret “Peggy” Rubino McKissick.

She was a 1960 graduate of Lock Haven High School.

On September 7, 1962 at the Woolrich Community Church, she married the love of her life, Richard A. DeHaas, who survives.

Mary Louise started her working career as a secretary at Piper Aircraft. She then worked as a bookkeeper and clerk at Poor Richard’s Bookstore before serving as Vice President of Bottorff’s Shoe Company. Her last employment was with the Treasurer’s Office at the Clinton County Courthouse, where she worked until her retirement.

She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Parish attending Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Lock Haven where she served as a Lector during Sunday Masses.

Mary Louise volunteered her time as a Gray Lady at Lock Haven Hospital for several years in her earlier days. She enjoyed spending time in her vegetable and flower gardens.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Keith (Sherri) DeHaas of Vermont and William DeHaas of Lock Haven.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert McKissick.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 21, 2021 at 11 A.M. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 310 W. Water St., Lock Haven, PA 17745 with Rev. Father Joseph Orr officiating.

Private burial will take place at Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lock Haven.

Friends and family will be received on Sunday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, PA 17745.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to Holy Spirit Catholic Parish.
