KCSD Super’s Report: COVID numbers trending down

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP, PA – Keystone Central School District Superintendent Jacquelyn Martin, in her Friday report, notes the continued decline in COVID community spread across the bulk of the school district which covers parts of three counties. She also reports a decline in cases within the school district community:

KCSD Staff and Community,

It is a relief to see the data for community spread in the moderate range for the largest portion of our school district.  Cases within the district are following the same trend.  Currently within KCSD there are only two active cases of Covid-19 among our staff and two among our students across three different schools.  Please continue following all safety guidelines and keeping pandemic contacts to a minimum and report any known cases to the appropriate building principal and follow the social distancing guidelines.  Keep your child home if they may have been exposed to anyone with Covid-19, or if they exhibit any of the Covid-19 symptoms.  Keystone Central schools will continue to follow the current Health and Safety plans.  We will keep you informed of any news from the Pennsylvania Department of Education with regards to changes in public school requirements and restrictions.

Individuals 12 and older are now eligible to be vaccinated in Pennsylvania.  If you are interested, two-dose Pfizer vaccines are available for all eligible Pennsylvanian’s at UPMC’s vaccination clinics in Williamsport and Lock Haven.

Looking ahead…All schools will be closed on Monday, May 31, 2021 in observance of Memorial Day.  Tuesday, June 8, 2021 is scheduled as a half day for students.  Early dismissal times will be provided by each of the school principals in the near future.
