Laurel Moyer wins 10K at PSAC Championships
SHIPPENSBURG, PA – Laurel Moyer (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain) helped the Lock Haven University women’s outdoor track & field team open the 2021 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships in thrilling fashion as she cruised to a 13-second victory in the 10,000-meter run Thursday at Shippensburg’s Seth Grove Stadium.
Moyer was one of three Bald Eagles in the race and she was in total control from the start as she cruised to the individual PSAC 10K title. She ran 39:11.51. The Lock Haven standout will be back in action Friday in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and she’ll look to run the 5,000 Saturday.
Thrower Megan Manglaviti (Falls, Pa./Tunkhannock) turned in a sensational outing as well as she placed sixth in the hammer throw with a big personal-best mark of 153-11.00.
Molly Snyder (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Mechanicsburg) and Caroline Strickley (Atlgen, Pa./Octorara) finished 11th (42:14.16) and 12th (42:17.95), respectively at 10,000 meters.
For LHU, Day 2 action at the 2021 PSAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships picks up Friday with field events at 12 p.m. Track events are scheduled for a 1:05 p.m. start Friday. The three-day conference-championship meet will conclude on Saturday.
