LOCK HAVEN, PA. – The Lock Haven University women’s outdoor track & field team closed the 2021 regular season at home Saturday as the Bald Eagles hosted the LHU Qualifier. A number of brilliant individual efforts headlined the day for Lock Haven.

The action marked the first event held on LHU’s newly minted Glen Allison Family Track & Field Complex.

Prior to the start of the meet, the Bald Eagles honored their graduating seniors: Laurel Moyer (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain), Tia Judy (East Prospect, Pa./Homeschooled), Caroline Stickley (Atglen, Pa./Octorara), Madeline Brandt (Kresgeville, Pa./Pleasant Valley), Chloe Wagner (Beavertown, Pa./West Snyder) and Taylor Johns (South Fork, Pa./Forest Hills).

It was Moyer – a senior-standout – who once again led the way for The Haven. Moyer made her long-awaited debut in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and she ran to another school record. She finished her first ever steeplechase event in 10:49.50, which broke the school record by 22 seconds and broke the meet record by 20 seconds. Moyer’s NCAA Division II championship provisional qualifying mark was the 13th fastest time in Division II as of press time.

Moyer wasn’t done there and shortly after her brilliant steeplechase effort, she came back and won the 800-meter run, thanks to a dazzling kick and finish down the home stretch. Her time of 2:16.18 was a three-second personal best and ranks among the top-five times in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) this season.

LHU will return to action on Thursday, May 6 on the first day of competition at the 2021 PSAC Championships. The 2021 conference championship meet is set for May 6-8 (Thur.-Sat.) at Shippensburg University’s Seth Grove Stadium.
