Lady ‘Cat Volleyball Prevails over Penns Valley, 3-0
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – When Central Mountain and Penns Valley meet on the volleyball court, the Lady Rams are usually more successful team. Not tonight, as the Lady Wildcats pulled out a hard-fought 3-0 win over PV.
In all three games these two teams would trade attacks and keep the lead close in tight contest that did not allow even a moment to relax.
The lady ‘Cats picked up a 25-20 win in the first game and Penns Valley would not yield quietly as they made their presence known by trailing very closely 25-22 in game 2, 25-22 and 24-23 in game three.
In the games there were many extended play volleys where both teams made grate saves and exciting attacks in the see-saw battle throughout the night.
Loni Duck set the tone for the Lady Wildcats with 1 ace, 14 kills, 13 assists and 6 digs; Evie Rembold garnered had 2 aces, 5 kills, 1 assist and 3 digs; McKenzie Hanna had 7 kills, 1 assist and 5 digs; Emily Bartlett had 1 ace, 5 assists and 8 digs; Abby Brinker had 9 digs while Reese Doyle contributed 4 kills.
Central Mountain will next host Bellefonte on Saturday, October 3, 2020 with the JV game slated for 11 a.m. with the varsity game to follow.
