Sally D. Bowman – Obituary

Sally D. Bowman, age 72, of Beech Creek, PA, passed away peacefully at Manor Care in Jersey Shore with her husband, Bill, by her side on Monday, June 16, 2014.

Born in Philadelphia, PA on October 6, 1941, Sally was the daughter of the late Henry Laukaitis and Wilma Wall.  Sally and her husband Bill owned and operated the Beech Creek Market from 1985 to 2005, and she most recently worked at Lowe’s in Mill Hall where she was loved by her co-workers.

Sally was a devoted member of the Beech Creek Wesleyan Church.  In addition to the church, she dedicated her time to the Friendship Community Library in Beech Creek.

Married for 53 years, she and Bill enjoyed time with their five daughters and grandchildren, as well as trips to her favorite vacation spot, Long Beach Island, NJ.

In addition to her parents, Sally was preceded in death by her brothers Hank, Bud, Bob, her twin Noel, and her sister Ruth Ann.  She is survived by her loving husband, Bill; daughters Dorene Gramlich, Kathy Bowman, Jeannie Clinton, Diane McCann, and Jennifer Wiker; 8 loving grandchildren, Bill, Dan, Shawn, Allison, Sarah, Helen, Eddie, and Emma; two step-grandchildren, Adam and Audra, and a step-great grandson, Cayde.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at the Beech Creek Wesleyan Church, 217 Main Street, Beech Creek, PA.  Family and friends may visit from 5:30 – 6:30 PM, and a memorial service will begin at 6:30 PM.
