Merle R. Schoonover – Obituary

SOUTH RENOVO – Merle R. Schoonover, 62, 1001 Pine St., South Renovo, PA died March 18, 2016 at the Bucktail Medical Center, South Renovo, PA. Born Aug. 10, 1953 in Renovo, PA he was the son of the late Doyle L. and Anna Laura Knickerbocker Schoonover.

Merle had been employed at Hope Enterprises, South Renovo, PA and enjoyed puzzles, animals, cutting wood, rides in the woods, paint by numbers, going to camp, fishing and was well known for his pistols, cowboy hat and ‘coon’ cap.

He is survived by one sister, Carlen Ann (Larry) Wertz, West Renovo, PA, one brother, Roy G. Schoonover, Renovo, PA and many Nieces & Nephews

Merle was preceded in death by, two sisters, Betty Pedokus and Eleanor Brooks, four brothers, Ernest F. Schoonover; AlfredL. Schoonover; William D. Schoonover and Max C. Schoonover

A Celebration of Life honoring the life of Merle R. Schoonover will be held Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 1 PM at the Chapman Twp. Vol. Fire Co., North Bend, PA with Martha Sykes officiating. After the memorial service family and friends will share their memories of Merle until 4 PM.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Bucktail Medical Center or Hope Enterprises of Renovo.
