Edith M. Rine, 88, of Avis, passed away following a brief illness on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born on August 28, 1927 in Monument, she was the daughter of the late Harry R. and Mary James Heverly.

Edith was married to the love of her life, James L. Rine who preceded her in death on April 26, 2013.

She was employed by Sylvania and then by Champion Parts.

Edith was a member of the Flemington First Church of Christ.

She enjoyed quilting, crafting, doing puzzles, and going to yard sales and flea markets.

Surviving is one son, Vincent J. (Laura) Sementelli of Lock Haven; two daughters, Sandy K. Laird of Avis and Mary Jo (Phil) Leitzell of Lock Haven; seven grandchildren; and fifteen great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Harry F. Sementelli; two sisters, Betty Knott and Louise Burne; and a granddaughter, Mandy Jo Sementelli.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at 11a.m. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington with the Rev. Mark Riley officiating. Private burial will take place at Romola Cemetery.

Friends and family will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 6 until 8 p.m.
