ALA Pennsylvania Gathers in Harrisburg for State Convention and Red Shirt Friday to Honor Deployed Service Members

HARRISBURG -American Legion Auxiliary(ALA), Department of Pennsylvania, held it State Convention at Red Lion Inn in Harrisburg, with American Legion Auxiliary members from all over Pennsylvania in attendance. A group picture was taken for “Red Shirt Fridays” of ALA members with their “RED” shirts on. ALA members wear their Red Shirts on Fridays, which RED stands for “Remember Everyone Deployed”.

These American Legion Auxiliary (ALA) members are part of the largest Veterans Service Organization(VSO)in the world. Their mission being in the spirit of “Service, Not Self”, the mission of the American Legion Auxiliary (ALA) is to support the American Legion and to honor the sacrifice of those who serve and have served, by enhancing the lives of our veterans, military and their families, both at home and abroad. For God and Country, they advocate for veterans, educate our citizens, mentor youth and promote patriotism, good citizenship, peace and security.
They are part of the Department of Pennsylvania’s American Legion Auxiliary, which is the largest American Legion Auxiliary in the world.
The next ALA’s Centre, Lycoming and Clinton Council meeting will be hosted by George Webster Pepperman American Legion Auxiliary Unit #36 of Jersey Shore on September 10. Special guest who will be attending will be Department of Pennsylvania’s American Legion Auxiliary President, Jackie Weaver! All American Legion Auxiliary members are invited to attend.
