Betty Earnstine Bower – Obituary

ObitArtBetty Earnstine Fenstemacher Bower, 84, of Lock Haven passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at her home.

Born on July14, 1930 in Williamsport, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Eleanor Pidcoe Fenstemacher.

Betty attended school in Williamsport until her family moved to Ironton, Ohio, where she graduated from high school.

In 1952 she married Robert “Bob” Eugene Bower who preceded her in death in 2005.

Early in life Betty was a waitress at numerous restaurants in both Williamsport and Ironton. She then was employed by R.K. Griffin Chair Factory, retiring when the factory closed.

Betty was Methodist by faith.

She enjoyed crocheting.

Betty was a wonderful caregiver to Bob’s parents and helped raise many of his nephews and nieces.

Surviving is a sister, Doris Giles of Lock Haven; many nephews and nieces; several great nephews and nieces; and a few great, great nephews and nieces.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Jean, and a brother, Ray.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Clinton County S.P.C.A. through the funeral home.
