DUNNSTOWN – Despite a bit of morning rain and threatening afternoon clouds, the Dunnstown Fire Company 75th Anniversary Celebration and Parade went off without a hitch Saturday afternoon.

Hundreds of people made their way over to the fire hall Saturday for sausage sandwiches, burgers, and 75 cent hot dogs and fries all prepared by volunteers of Dunnstown Fire Company. There were also over 30 different vendors set up in the social hall and truck room selling their wares and other food vendors outside.

From ice cream and Mr. Sticky’s, to sausages and burgers, those who braved the weather to partake in one of the first parades in the Lock Haven area for 2024 were not disappointed by dozens of fire trucks visiting from the surrounding three counties, or the amount of candy that was thrown from them and others in the parade.

Fire and EMS who participated in the parade were from Woodward Township Police Department, Dunnstown Fire Company, Wayne Township Volunteer Fire Company, Jersey Shore Independent Hose Company, Citizen’s Hose Company of South Renovo, Walker Township Fire Company, Centre Hall Fire Company, Old Lycoming Township Volunteer Fire Company, Hughesville Volunteer Fire Department, Lock Haven EMS, Goodwill Hose Company Flemington, Howard Fire Company, Waterville Volunteer Fire Company, Citizen’s Hose Company Lock Haven, Haneyville Volunteer Fire Company, Castanea Fire Company, Mill Hall Volunteer Fire Company, Sugar Valley Volunteer Fire Company, Renovo Fire Department Advanced Life Support, Avis Fire Department, Eastside Fire Rescue Lock Haven, Miles Township Fire Company Rebersburg and Pine Creek Township Police.

After the parade of fire trucks, all fire companies parked their trucks nearby and joined in on the food, festivities, and camaraderie that being a member of the brotherhood of firefighters tends to naturally follow them when involved in momentous occasions.
